Nuxe Skincare

Heya, I have been on the hunt for new skincare products as I felt my skin was just not looking its best maybe its the winter to spring transition... here's hoping!

As I have been on a TIGHT budget over the last year there has been no splurging on products... however my skin does need some TLC...so the hunt for the perfect skin care began.

During one of my regular visits to my local pharmacy, my beady eyes spotted 3 for 2 offers on most of their skincare. As I also had a voucher left over from Christmas, I decided it was the perfect chance for me to make some purchases.

The products are not cheap. Creme Prodigieuse Enriche €23.39, Creme Prodigieuse Nuit €24.90 & Merveillance Serum €40.69. However they are nowhere near as pricey as Sisley, a brand who also uses plant extract philosophy. (Just remembering a splurge at a Sisley counter some time ago... beautiful products but my bank balance ahhhhh)

Nuxe is a brand which has been on my radar for some time, I really like the idea behind this brand... Nature and Luxury (Luxe) in French hence the name Nuxe. On their website it describes the products as a unique blend of nature, performance and sensuality, what more do you want from skin care???

About the products individually, I have not had them long enough to do full review however my first impressions are that they feel really luxurious and smell amazing... if you like plant extract scents.

The night cream comes in a glass jar (as do most night creams) which I find can be bit messy and wasteful - enter my trusty little plastic spoon- problem solved.

As you will notice I chose products on the moisturising side of things as I had recently inherited a dermalogica cleanser (thanks Emma much appreciated).

Finally a big shout out to the lady who served me in my local Unicarepharmacy, she was super helpful and she also gave me a load of samples... I salute you!

So have you tried Nuxe products? What are your favourites?

Take Care.

In Memory - Dad

Heya, this is very special and personal.

A year ago today dad passed away and although it is sad that he is no longer with us in person he will always be with us in spirit. Dad was a quiet, loving man who lived for his family and we all miss him everyday.

Dad - Cutest man on far right.
Apologies to family members who are not in this photo, it was difficult to find all of us in one pic x

I am gutted that I can't be with all of my family to share this day with them but they are in my heart and will be thinking of them all. I will also be thinking of dad and all the wonderful memories.

My blog is mainly fashion and beauty related however its really a reflection of my life, a huge part of which is my family and friends.

Dad was a wonderful man and he deserves to be remembered with lots of love and I hope that you don't mind me sharing my personal thoughts today.

March (Harrods Edition) Glossybox

Heya, I know that I am late (fashionably I hope) with my post on this box however Glossybox had some dispatch problems to Ireland and had to reissue my box which only arrived yesterday.

Even though I had a fair idea what would be in my box (yes I had watched youtube videos and also read blog posts) I was still excited to open and unwrap my box.

Although I love to try new products in fact I am a bit of a sucker for it, I still think the opening and unwrapping of such a beautiful box is quite fun, like a little personal gift in the post every month (I have forgotten that I have paid for it at this stage). Does anyone else feel like that when they get their box?

Anyways onto what's inside.....

Apologies for quality too much sun in hallway - not usually an issue in Ireland

The products:
Erno Laszlo - The Hollywood Collection - 5 sample sachets of skin care formulations inspired by Hollywood devotees such as Marilyn Monroe, Katherine Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Greta Garbo & Ava Gardner. I have not tried these as yet, I will probably use them for a one off occasion. I do not plan to purchase full size unless they perform some sort of miracle on my skin and transform me into a Hollywood goddess.
Fendi - Fan di Fendi - 4ml sample size eau de toilette whilst this smells quite nice I don't plan to use it as the lid on bottle is bit fiddly for carrying around but it will look soooooo cute on my dressing area.
Clarins - Extra Firming Body Cream - 30ml sample which is a great size to actually try out and get a feel for purchasing the full size. I have tried this before and like most Clarins products is lovely. I plan to keep this little tube for when I travel.
Ojon - Restorative Hair Serum - 25ml tube of hair serum containing ojon oil as we all know anything for the hair containing oils is on the money just now in the beauty world so I am excited to try this. I plan to do a review comparing this to other hair serum/oils out there. Also Ojon is a brand I have been planning to try for ages.
Burberry - Lip Cover - No. 4 Rosewood - 0.28oz sample which is really the cutest minature beauty product I have seen for ages. The packaging of the Burberry make up range is just beautiful and this little sample is no exception. I really like this lipstick its really creamy and long wearing. I can safely say I will be buying a full size Burberry lipstick very soon... off to check the range of colours after I have posted this.

Overall I was very happy with this box and I am looking forward to my April box.

Take Care.

Sweet n Simple

Heya I don't know about you guys but sometimes life just seems to get hectic and a bit overwhelming and the simple things can be forgotten. Today I went back to basics (think the sunshine helped) and decided to enjoy 2 of my guilt free pleasures.....

and what do you need for the milkshake I hear you ask.... I use frozen banana as it keeps longer and you don't need ice). Blend together and pour into your favourite glass, add a straw (neon of course)

and how to get your hands on Elle magazine that's a lot easier just pop down to your local newsagent and part with £3.90 or even better subscribe... subscribe2.co.uk/elle/IA69.

Add a sunny garden and enjoy!

Finally just a quick thank you to Nikki Phillipi on youtube for the milkshake recipe, I have been loving ever since I first tried it... Let me know if you try it and what you think.

Take Care
